Gabrielle Holton and Darian Clark, Osseo Senior High School seniors, have been selected to represent Region 5AA in the Academics, Arts and Athletics Award program, region secretary, Ray Kirch announced today.
Established in 1988, the Academics, Arts, and Athletics Award (Triple “A” Award) is sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League. The award goes to high school seniors who have a “B” or better grade point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities.
Both Holton and Clark are active students at Osseo Senior High.
Holton is an active member in Orchestra where she is a section leader and all-conference as a violinist. She participated in the fall musical production of Hairspray. She has played hockey at Osseo since her 8th grade year and has lettered in 9th through 11th grade and this spring, she will serve as a captain on the lacrosse team. In the classroom, Holton maintains a 4.0 GPA, has been on the A honor roll every trimester, has achieved honors and earned an academic letter every year as well.
Clark is a member of the chamber choir. He also starred as Corny Collins in the fall musical production of Hairspray. He has lettered in track and field and cross country and Clark was named most improved on the nordic ski team in 2017. In the classroom, he maintains a 3.92 GPA and has received high honors during his 10th and 11th grade years. Clark also received an academic letter from 9th through 11th grade.
Triple “A” Award recipients are selected by a multi-level process involving the League’s member schools and administrative regions. League officials will announce the four award recipients (a girl and a boy from both a Class “A” and Class “AA” school). Each award recipient will receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship.
